Proyecto Escape - Cazuca
Collaborative process between communities led by Proyecto Escape and supported by different local and international organisations
Proyecto Escape - Cazuca
Cazucá is located to the south of the city of Bogotá and is part of District 4 of the Soacha Municipality. During the past two decades, Cazucá has been the place where many people displaced from rural areas (due to violence) have found a home in the city. Subsequently, the inhabitants of Cazucá have built their own homes, developed infrastructure and public spaces through collective processes.
In this place, urbz Colombia met Project Escape, a grassroots organization created by Nohora who is one of the first inhabitants of the Altos del Pino neighborhood. This neighborhood is one of the thirty that form Cazucá. Proyecto Escape has experimented with different cultural and sports activities to create spaces where children and adults can interact in the past two decades. In this regard, urbz Colombia, in alliance with other organizations, has supported the initiatives of the community regarding the design of facilities and improvement of public spaces through various international workshops and activities since 2016.
