3rd Workshop in Emergent Architecture and Urbanism - Bogotá
For many years, the inhabitants of the San German neighbourhood (located in Usme, in the metropolitan area of Bogota) have been developing many different projects on public space improvement and infrastructure, which permitted the amelioration of living conditions. The main goal is to promote projects of community improvement on social and cultural levels of the San German community.
In partnership with Urbz Colombia and Fase Medusa, the community wants to organise the 3rd Workshop on Emerging Architecture and Urbanism. This workshop is a space focused on the exchange of knowledge between the inhabitants of the neighbourhood, students, professionals and everyone who wants to participate in the construction of the different projects through a collaborative process.
The main objective of the 3rd Workshop in Emergent Architecture and Urbanism is to build the first step of de community hall. Currently, in this area, more than 600 children and more than 400 adults develop different activities in precarious conditions.
Using sustainable construction techniques, the construction of the community hall will be set with all services required to host the activities in the best conditions. The community hall will include: classrooms, toilets, a kitchen, a nursing home, a library and an administration office.
FORMULATION
With the necessity of a community centre, it is proposed that the construction of a space equipped with all services and areas be undertaken to respond to the demand for a space destined for several activities.
WORKSHOPS
For the consolidation of this project, starting from Mars, all weekends are dedicated to construction workshops, focused on preparing the space for the execution of the final workshop. This phase will permit bringing together the multiple actors and raising the necessary funds to build the project.
EXECUTION
From the 30th of May until the 2nd of June will be set the 3rd Workshop in Emergent Architecture and Urbanism in which the first step to build the community hall.
