Formally trained in Green Chemistry at the University of York, Kush transitioned towards urban ecology through research work in the Delhi Ridge.

After spending initial years in the field, he began training himself in gardening and botany. Seeking inspiration from the resilience of forests, his work now seeks to identify issues with manicured horticulture and sort wilder, self-sustainable approaches for urban spaces.

Through an independent practice - ‘hara(me) co’, Kush designs gardens and hosts nature-based walking tours for students, corporations and tourists in the city.

As a visiting faculty, he has taught at the School of Planning and Architecture, Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Tech, Azim Premji University and Ashoka University. He has also been consulting ‘arts and culture’ institutes on community-focussed sustainability projects, namely Deutsches Museum Munich, Site Gallery Sheffield, KultureForum Witten and Übersee-Museum Bremen.
